Hexcel Corporation (NYSE: HXL) has received Type Approval for its HexPly® M9.6GF prepreg products from Bureau Veritas (BV), a world leader in testing, inspection, and certification services.
STAMFORD, Conn., July 15, 2022– Hexcel Corporation (NYSE: HXL) has joined with Spirit AeroSystems Europe in a strategic collaboration at its Aerospace Innovation Centre (AIC) to develop more sustainable aircraft manufacturing technologies for future aircraft production.
Hexcel has signed a long-term agreement with Dassault to supply carbon fiber prepreg for the Falcon 10X program. This is the first Dassault business jet program to incorporate high-performance advanced carbon fiber composites in the manufacture of its aircraft wings.
Hexcel has been awarded a long-term agreement by Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, to supply advanced composite structures for the CH-53K King Stallion heavy lift helicopter program. The award significantly expands Hexcel composite content on the aircraft.
Hexcel is a major supplier of advanced composite materials for the A321XLR airframe and the CFM International LEAP-1A engine that powered the aircraft flown today. These innovative lightweight composite materials provide weight savings and performance enhancements that reduce fuel consumption and emissions as well as long-term maintenance costs.
Hexcel has developed a new product range that combines Hexcel resin systems made with bio-derived resin content with natural fiber reinforcements to create material solutions for Automotive, Winter Sports, Marine and Wind Energy applications.
